Read or Condemn Yourself to Death by Ignorance

For those courageous souls brave enough to look and see what is,

who are unwilling to blindly accept

the lies and rules of tyrannical authority.

The simple step of a courageous individual is not to take part in the lie.

One word of truth outweighs a world of lies.

-----

If perchance a post of mine you think extreme

heed this from Kahlil Gibran:

“In battling evil, excess is good;

for he who is moderate in announcing the truth is presenting half-truth.

He conceals the other half out of fear of the people’s wrath.”

-----

One of my goals is to think and act as if I fear no man’s wrath or deed.

Observation And Integrity

Wednesday 6th July 2022

G’day,

Hope this finds you fit and well.

It is obscene that Albo gives a foreign, CIA backed, Nazi money laundering operation $100 million while giving Australian adult flood sufferers a mere $1,000, some of whom have been without power since Feb, I hear. I for one will be sending him an email at: A.Albanese.MP@aph.gov.au expressing my disagreement with his allocation of my tax money! I invite you to join me in so doing. If, as hgas been said, we get the government we deserve and criminals and politicians will do what they can get away with, then we need to be better citizens and stop them getting away with blue murder!

If you are not aware of the scam, look up the US$1.3 million house Zelensky just purchased in Switzerland.

Here is a sampling of what recently crossed my digital desk.

I hope you get something from it!

I think many women have to be braver and smarter to survive in a world full of brutish men. Not all of us are but enough have yet to see the light that makes it tough for the fairer sex.

I counted my years
and realized that
I have less time to live by,
than I have lived so far.
I have more past than future.
I feel like that boy who got a bowl of cherries.
At first, he gobbled them,
but when he realized there were only few left,
he began to taste them intensely.
I no longer have time to deal with mediocrity.
I do not want to be in meetings where flamed egos parade.
I am bothered by the envious,
who seek to discredit the most able,
to usurp their places, coveting their seats,
talent, achievements and luck.
I do not have time for endless conversations,
useless to discuss about the lives of others
who are not part of mine.
I no longer have the time to manage
sensitivities of people who despite their chronological age, are immature.
I hate to confront those that struggle for power,
those that ’do not debate content, just the labels’.
My time has become scarce to debate labels,
I want the essence.
My soul is in a hurry …
Not many cherries in my bowl,
I want to live close to human people, very human,
who laugh of their own stumbles,
and away from those turned smug
and overconfident with their triumphs,
away from those filled with self-importance.
The essential is what makes life worthwhile.
And for me, the essentials are enough!
Yes, I’m in a hurry.
I’m in a hurry to live with the intensity that only maturity can give.
I do not intend to waste any of the remaining cherries.
I am sure they will be exquisite, much more than those eaten so far.
My goal is to reach the end satisfied
and at peace with my loved ones and my conscience.
And per Confucius “We have two lives
and the second begins when you realize you only have one.”

Beautiful

Beautiful

When she was a little girl
they told her she was beautiful
but it had no meaning
in her world of bicycles
and pigtails
and adventures in make-believe.

Later, she hoped she was beautiful
as boys started taking notice
of her friends
and phones rang for
Saturday night dates.

She felt beautiful on her wedding day,
hopeful with her
new life partner by her side
but, later,
when her children called
her beautiful,
she was often exhausted,
her hair messily tied back,
no make up,
wide in the waist
where it used to be narrow;
she just couldn’t take it in.

Over the years, as she tried,
in fits and starts,
to look beautiful,
she found other things
to take priority,
like bills
and meals,
as she and her life partner
worked hard
to make a family,
to make ends meet,
to make children into adults,
to make a life.

Now,
she sat.
Alone.
Her children grown,
her partner flown,
and she couldn’t remember
the last time
she was called beautiful.

But she was.
It was in every line on her face,
in the strength of her arthritic hands,
the ampleness that had
a million hugs imprinted
on its very skin,
and in the jiggly thighs and
thickened ankles
that had run her race for her.

She had lived her life with a loving
and generous heart,
had wrapped her arms
around so many to
to give them comfort and peace.

Her ears had
heard both terrible news
and lovely songs,
and her eyes
had brimmed with,
oh, so many tears,
they were now bright
even as they dimmed.

She had lived and she was.
And because she was,
she was made beautiful.

The Difference Between Knowledge And Understanding

Another piece of the jigsaw puzzle of life drops neatly into its place:

“Learning does not make one learned: there are those who have knowledge and those who have understanding. The first requires memory and the second philosophy.” - Alexandre Dumas

(Tom: Some people have ascended WAY past gold. They’ve gone multiple levels of platinum as a human being!)

I found this delightful story online and want to share it. It’s from a woman in California:

My husband did not want children, DID NOT WANT. I couldn’t have children. A marriage made in heaven. About three years into the marriage, my brother and his wife were killed, leaving a toddler and an infant. I spent the next four days comforting my parents, making funeral arrangements and planning a funeral. My husband spent those four days dealing with the fact that there were two kids that were looking at foster care. He tried to find a way out of the situation. He didn’t want to be a parent. DID NOT WANT. We never discussed the kids because we were dealing with arrangements.

We were driving back to my parents’ house after the funeral and he essentially said “So we are going to be parents.” I was shocked, the fate of the kids had never come up. My response was something like “But you don’t want kids.” His response was “I love you, you would not be happy if the kids went to foster care, I want you to be happy, I will do anything for you to be happy.”

To be honest, I was almost as grudging as he was, because we had plans and they didn’t include children. But he was right, I wouldn’t be happy if the kids were raised in foster care. So we became parents.

Two years later we adopted both kids. My husband—who didn’t want children—spent the next roughly 18 years as the best and most devoted father I have ever met. When the kids were about seven and nine, one day I asked him why he had been so hands-on and devoted. His response was “It is a gift to you— at least it started out that way. Now I love them for themselves.”

It blew my mind that he gave up or delayed his dreams and plans just to make me happy and that he did so without sulking without complaining. He was patient, devoted and kind to the children and he did it as a gift to me.

Who the hell needs presents, flowers or candlelit dinners?

1. How Many Scientists Fabricate and Falsify Research? A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Survey Data

A pooled weighted average of 1.97% of scientists admitted to have fabricated, falsified or modified data or results at least once –a serious form of misconduct by any standard– and up to 33.7% admitted other questionable research practices. In surveys asking about the behaviour of colleagues, admission rates were 14.12% for falsification, and up to 72% for other questionable research practices.

Considering that these surveys ask sensitive questions and have other limitations, it appears likely that this is a conservative estimate of the true prevalence of scientific misconduct.

Overall, admission rates are consistent with the highest estimates of misconduct obtained using other sources of data, in particular FDA data audits. However, it is likely that, if on average 2% of scientists admit to have falsified research at least once and up to 34% admit other questionable research practices, the actual frequencies of misconduct could be higher than this.

2. Drug studies skewed toward study sponsors

An analysis of pharmaceutical industry drug trials shows that results often favor the firms sponsoring the study.

Until next time,
dream big dreams,
plan out how to achieve them,
be continually executing your plans,
enlist people to your causes,
travel and/or read widely, preferably both,
all the while observing what you observe
rather than thinking what you are told to think,
think well of your fellow man,
take time to help your fellow man,
he sorely needs it and it will help you too,
eat food that is good for your body,
exercise your body,
take time to destress,
and do the important things
that make a difference -
they are rarely the urgent ones!
