The Worst Yet to Come? Why Nuclear Experts Are Calling Fukushima a Ticking Time-Bomb

nuclear waste experts say the Japanese are literally playing with fire in the way nuclear spent fuel continues to be stored onsite, especially in reactor 4, which contains the most irradiated fuel -- 10 times the deadly cesium-137 released during the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear accident. These experts also charge that the NRC is letting this threat fester because acknowledging it would call into question safety at dozens of identically designed nuclear power plants around the U.S., which contain exceedingly higher volumes of spent fuel in similar elevated pools outside of reinforced containment.

Gundersen, who is chief engineer at the consulting firm Fairewinds Associates, added that the spent fuel pool at unit 4 “remains the single biggest concern since about the second week of the accident. It can still create ’Chernobyl on steroids.’”

Anti-Organic Food Study A Fraud

Some Very Interesting Data On Nutrients For Pregnant Ladies

One study presented to the court showed that pregnant women who were given 800 mcg. of folic acid in multivitamin supplements experienced a 100% reduction in neural tube defects, compared with a 40% to 80% reduction resulting from a 400 mcg. dosage. According to a recent survey, only 30% of women of childbearing age know that folic acid reduces birth defects. By censoring this information about folic acid, the FDA was condemning tens of thousands of babies to crippling and irreversible birth defects... The FDA recently lost the case. An estimated 350,000 birth defects occurred in America during the time the folic acid lawsuit was in progress."

Vaccines --- Kill or Cure?

As the controversial debate over mandatory vaccine policy heats up igniting passions, it is perhaps appropriate we summarize what is known about the manifest benefits of modern vaccines, not forgetting the tremendously salutary impact on health and longevity wrought about by better living conditions, hygiene and sanitation, in general, and the introduction and subsequent widespread use of antibiotics, in particular.

Why have Antipsychotic Prescriptions in Children Skyrocketed?

In each of these cases, the drug manufacturers were targeting children, despite the fact that none of the drugs in question were approved for use in that age group. To understand how effective these illegal marketing schemes are, consider that sales of antipsychotic drugs to children have increased eight-fold since 1993. Sales to teens have quintupled, while adult sales doubled in the same time frame. In 2008 alone, an estimated $6 billion was spent on off-label antipsychotics in the US, of which $5.4 billion was for uses based on uncertain evidence!

Please Forgive Me For Petting That Dog

Speaking as the owner of a toy Poodle (who thinks he is a Rottweiler) and miniature Schnauzer (who thinks he is guarding the palace walls from evil intruders wanting to steal the lost Ark), this is SO real!

RULE 1: Any food that goes to another dog is a high crime.
RULE 2: Any pats that go to another dog are a complete waste. They should have come to me.
RULE 3: Wherever you go, I go too. Unless you don't let me. Or it's the shower. I don't willingly do showers. Or heights. Not keen on heights either. Or tile floors. They're slippery. Don't like slippery floors. I do wheel spins when I try to take off quickly.

Wake Up Our Government Does Not Represent Us Any More

Wake Up! Our Government Does Not Represent Us Any More

The US Government is corrupt to the core.

“The decision to vigorously fight Forrest’s ruling is a further example of the Obama White House’s steady and relentless assault against civil liberties, an assault that is more severe than that carried out by George W. Bush,” writes Hedges. “Obama has refused to restore habeas corpus. He supports the FISA Amendment Act, which retroactively makes legal what under our Constitution has traditionally been illegal — warrantless wire tapping, eavesdropping and monitoring directed against US citizens. He has used the Espionage Act six times against whistle-blowers who have exposed government crimes, including war crimes, to the public. He interprets the 2001 Authorization to Use Military Force Act as giving him the authority to assassinate US citizens, as he did the cleric Anwar al-Awlaki. And now he wants the right to use the armed forces to throw U.S. citizens into military prisons, where they will have no right to a trial and no defined length of detention.”

Obama is in a condition of Treason against US citizens.

He has been a constitutional lawyer so cannot claim ignorance of the content and meaning of the document that is the legal foundation of the US of A and the basis for the protection of its citizens against tyranny.

Agreeing to and supporting and appealing the suspension of legislation that undermines the basic legal rights of US citizens is an act of treason against them. It paves the way for tyranny.

ALL Americans need to understand this point fully for themselves then take responsibility for contacting your member of congress and lobby for the impeachment and removal of this traitor!

Interesting If True

Blog author claims 80 countries file criminal charges in World Court against Obama! I have not found anything to substantiate this on the first 4 pages of Google search results.

Solutions To Some Of Today’s Problems

The problems we face today are there because the people who work for a living are outnumbered by those who vote for a living.

This was written by a 21 yr old female who gets it.

It’s her future she’s worried about and this is how she feels about the social welfare system that she’s being forced to live in!

These solutions are just common sense in her opinion.

Put me in charge.

Put me in charge of Centrelink payments. I’d get rid of cash payments and provide vouchers for 50kg bags of rice and beans, blocks of cheese, basic sanitary items and all the powdered milk you can use. If you want steak, burgers, takeaway and junk food, then get a job.

Put me in charge of Medicare. The first thing I’d do is to get women to have birth control implants. Then, we’ll test recipients for drugs, alcohol, and nicotine. If you want to reproduce, use drugs, drink alcohol or smoke, then get a job.

Put me in charge of government housing. Ever live in military barracks? You will maintain our property in a clean and good state of repair. Your “home” will be subject to inspections anytime and possessions will be inventoried. If you want a plasma TV or Xbox 360, then get a job and your own place.

Put me in charge of compulsory job search. You will either search for employment each week no matter what the job or you will report for community work. This may be clearing the roadways and open spaces of rubbish, painting and repairing public housing, whatever we find for you. We will sell your 22 inch rims and low profile tires and your dooff dooff stereo and speakers and put that money toward the “common good.”

Before you write that I’ve violated someone’s rights, realize that all of the above is voluntary. If you want our hard earned cash and housing assistance, accept our rules. Before you say that this would be “demeaning” and ruin someones “self esteem,” consider that it wasn’t that long ago that taking someone else’s money for doing absolutely nothing was demeaning and lowered self esteem.

If we are expected to pay for other people’s mistakes we should at least attempt to make them learn from their bad choices.

The current system rewards those for continuing to make bad choices.

AND While you are on Centrelink income you no longer have the right to VOTE! For you to vote would be a conflict of interest. If you want to vote, then get a job.

Teach Kids A Musical Instrument Early

Great article! Well worth reading, as are some of the comments. In fact most of the comments are 10 leagues above the average level of comment on other articles.

From the article: “If you get a kid who is maybe 3 or 4 years old and you’re teaching them to attend, they’re not only working on their auditory skills but also working on their attention skills and their memory skills which can translate into scholastic learning”, she said.

One of the comments: “My son was diagnosed in 2nd grade with Auditory Processing disorder. In a room with background noise he would process 99 out of 100 words wrong. In the 6th grade after years of tutors, he was almost 3 grade levels behind. He started musical training. By the 9th grade he was at grade level academically. He was able to stop individual tutoring. He wasn’t a honor student but he was at grade level. Able to read and math scores were above grade level. He now is at college studying audio engineering. Editing, Mixing, live sound. His music training and ability to determine pitch is helpful in this field but more importantly he has auditory processing developement for academics. In a classroom environment he doesn’t incorrectly process 99% of the lectures. If you have a child with a learning disability, music training either instrument or vocal will help. Year by year the resources for Music from the school district continue to lessen. School districts need to acknowledge the numerous studies that show many benefits from musical training. If a student is an achiever with a musical background studies prove their SAT scores are higher. If a student has learning dissabilities, musical training will provide comprehension and processing skills. Now a study that shows a direct conection between auditory processing and music needs to be taken to the next level. How does it help children with auditory or visual processing learning disorders.”

Another: “Damn, that Socrates really got it, didn't he? Recall that The Republic describes the optimal education to produce philosopher-kings: the initial education should focus upon the physical (we now know that helps develop three-dimensional reasoning), ’secondary’ education should focus upon music and finally, the focus should be upon philosophy. Makes sense to me: you ain’t gonna be much of a philosopher-king if you can’t listen well.“

Reading Your Mind

An article plucked from Facebook link, “In my life I have personally experience the so called E-METER, where as it traces the degree of emotion in every moment that you have in your mind, the moment you thought of it the E-Meter will move its hand, depends upon the degree of the emotion that is included in that thought, but this one the article that I will show to you is new to me, its title is Your Mind on Film by Mr, Ben Thomas.

“New technology can extract visual images from yout brain. Whole scenes can be reconstructed via fMRI, right out of your visual cortex. And shockingly few people know this is happening.

“The most common reaction is astonishment. “This makes me giddy!” says one commenter. It’s “one of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen,” says another.

“This is the beginning of the end of free thought,” saysa third.

“That last pundit may have a point: Like the pensieve in the Harry Potter series, this new technology seems to promise us physical access not only to our own memories, but to the memories and thoughts of others. In short, mind is becoming matter.

“Surely, though (you might say) we’re not all going to start recording our thoughts and memories and leaving them on thumb drives or in the Cloud, where, you know, anyone could be pawing around in them.

“Well, here’s the thing: Aren’t we mostly doing that already? Think YouTube and LiveLeak.

“Still, what makes this technology different from everyday video recording is its intimacy with the human mind. As a paper in the scientific journal Neuron explains, the new technique takes advantage of a phenomenon called retinotopy: The fact that spatial relationships among things we see are preserved in certain parts of our brains as we process the images.

“Scientists have been studying retinotopy since the 1970s -- but researchers at the ATR Computational Neuroscience Laboratories in Kyoto, Japan, recently took advantage of the phenomenon in a creative new way: They recorded high-resolution fMRI scans of volunteers’ brains as the subjects watched video clips, and designed a computer program to match specific video frames with the activity of specific neurons in the brain’s retinotopic maps. So now, when the volunteers watch new clips, the computer can monitor their brain activity and reconstruct video footage of what they are seeing.

“These thought videos, like the earliest photographs and film strips, are undeniably blurry. But the point is, this technology works. We humans have been striving to record our thoughts since the dawn of cave painting -- and now, in the most literal sense, we’re actually doing it.

“This is, to put it mildly, a pretty big deal. We find ourselves at one of those rare moments in history when a scientific breakthrough stands poised to give birth to a new art form. Or a game-changing technology, depending on who you ask. In fact, quite a lot will depend on who controls this technique -- who’s the first to patent it for commercial use.

“You don’t need me to tell you that in the hands of Hollywood directors, it has the potential to inspire works of haunting vulnerability and honesty. Or that in Madison Avenue offices, it could inspire ad campaigns of unprecedented penetration. Or that in the hands of the military....

“Let’s imagine for a second, though, that none of that happens.

“Let’s imagine that in 2019, a kid in India figures out how to capture video of his thoughts on a computer he’s hacked together in his basement. He posts a few tutorials, and suddenly a whole network of young artists and students are sharing their own thought videos.

“A nerdy girl from Argentina dives into the mind of an archaeologist in Beijing; a videographer in Tel Aviv; a politician in Denver. An artist in San Jose records his acid-infused visions and lets local bands rear-project the footage during their shows. In Upper East Side high schools, sons of stockbrokers gather around minds-eye recordings of Pashtun refugees, and get riled up like never before because all of a sudden it’s like this is happening to them.

“Am I getting ahead of myself? Maybe so -- this technology is still in its infancy.

“All I’m saying is, this first gasp of astonishment -- this banquet of childlike giddiness over this new technology, this unique new form of art -- is something that begs to be shared with others. Every human being deserves to watch a demonstration; to be delighted or terrified by it; most of all, to see firsthand that this is really, truly happening.

“So as soon as some young inventor throws the first live thought-video art show, I’ll be standing at the front of the line. See you there too, I hope.”
