Health

Things in the area of ADHD are really starting to turn. In a previous update I talked about rats deserting a sinking ship. Well, now, they may be taking flying leaps because this second link one of the so called ‘fathers’ of ADHD is now contradicting the usual psych line and admitting that normal children are being caught up in this so-called psychiatric farce called ADHD.

It is always worth remembering that some percentage of children have REAL problems; it’s just that these problems are not described by money making ‘mental health’ labels.

I have put a couple of comments further down. Read, get educated on the issues and pass this info onto your friends; they deserve to know.

Best Regards

1st article: Utah Governor signs new law that that bars schools from forcing parents to put their kids on psychotropic drugs such as Ritalin. The law is the first of its kind in the nation, said Madeline Kriescher, a health policy associate at the National Conference for State Legislatures. here
(See our earlier update where the United States Supreme Court stated that psych are not more able to judge sanity than you or me.)
2nd article: Robert Spitzer, the psychiatrist who invented ADHD now admits: “many may not really be ill." here (Yeah, but how much money has the profession stolen from society while he was saying it was a ‘real’ problem?)
3rd article: What TeenScreen Doesn’t Want You to See here (For anyone not aware of what screening or the fact that a form of it is practiced in Australian schools please read this. It is scary, dangerous and a threat to us all, not just kids.)

Anti-Aging Tip: Why You Should Eat Your Eggs Raw
By Al Sears, MD
Eggs are one of the few perfect foods. They’re full of vitamins and powerful nutrients - and packed with omega-3 fatty acids. Plus, they are the only protein source with a protein quality rating of 100 - meaning they have all the amino acids you need in exactly the ratio you need. Red meat is second at 70, followed by fish at 60 and chicken at 50.
Since protein has many anti-aging properties, including preserving your muscle, brain, heart, and libido, you might want to increase your egg intake right away.
Unfortunately, when you cook eggs many of their benefits are either altered or destroyed altogether. Especially highly perishable nutrients like lutein and zeaxanthin - carotenoids that keep your vision sharp and protect you from blindness.
What’s more, raw eggs act as a tonic to your digestive system, flushing out toxins and revitalizing your immune system. Only when the nutrients are delivered in their pure, raw state do you get this cleansing effect.
I’ve eaten raw eggs most days since childhood. And, no, eating raw eggs is NOT particularly dangerous. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, your chances of getting salmonella from raw eggs is about 0.003 percent - much lower than getting food poisoning from oysters.
If you don’t like the texture, whip up one or two eggs in a blender with some Ultra Greens and cod liver oil. Raw eggs have almost no taste, so you won’t even notice them - and you’ll have a real "breakfast of champions."

I have just read and signed the online petition:
"Stop the dolphin and whale killings in Taiji"
hosted on the web by PetitionOnline.com, the free online petition service, at: http://www.PetitionOnline.com/golfinho/
I personally agree with what this petition says, and I think you might agree, too. If you can spare a moment, please take a look, and consider signing yourself.

Robert Mugabe’s brutal treatment of his political opponents in Zimbabwe is tearing his country apart. Would you sign our petition to enforce tougher, targeted sanctions against his regime to force him to respect human rights?

In the last few days, Zimbabwe has plunged further into crisis, with key democratic activists beaten by their government.

On Sunday, while boarding a plane to an international meeting, Zimbabwe’s democratic opposition spokesman was beaten so severely that he lost an eye. Last week, opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai was arrested and beaten for attending a protest prayer vigil. Other democratic activists in Zimbabwe are under a terrible threat, with many still held in prison.

We can’t let this moment of international attention pass without pressing for effective action. We intend to deliver our petition by the end of the week. If Europe and neighbouring South Africa (Zimbabwe’s largest trading partners) threaten tougher sanctions, Mugabe will be forced to stop his attacks. Archbishop Desmond Tutu, the Nobel Peace Prize winner from South Africa, is already calling on his country and others to take action. Click below to join him in calling for a response: http://www.avaaz.org/en/zimbabwe/

Targeted sanctions (like freezing President Mugabe’s assets in foreign banks) will not hurt ordinary Zimbabweans, and quick action now could prevent a catastrophe. And beyond this critical moment, standing in solidarity with the pro-democracy and human rights activists around the world is a first step towards creating the kind of world we want to live in.

Zimbabwe is dangerously far along the road to tyranny and state collapse. It is time to draw the line.

With hope,

Ben, Hannah, Galit, Ricken, and the Avaaz team

How Big is a Picolitre?
We often hear inkjet printers being advertised with having picolitre droplets. But how big, or rather how small, is a picolitre? One pico unit is equal to one trillionth part, thus one picolitre is one trillionth of a litre. Hence in a printer, the smaller the picolitre size drop the higher is the print resolution. There are other technologies using picolitre size liquid, such as bioanalyser chips that contain chemical reagent to detect specific chemical changes.
